Your vehicle needs to be at least 25 years old, plus I believe you will then have to use specialty insurance, such as Haggerty or Grundy. You can find policies that let you drive with few mileage and/or usage restrictions, but all require that you have a primary vehicle registered and that the classic is designated as a secondary vehicle.
Ed PS- The proper NJ MVS lingo is "Historic Vehicle". They also have special registrations for "Street Rod" and "Collector Vehicle". The collector vehicle is for vehicles newer than 25-years old, but they must be rare, like a Lambo or something similar. |

dang,alright thanks.Because i have a 86 C10 and i was hoping that i would be able to put the "historic" tags on it and pay the crazy low insurance and only drive it every once in a while,and keep my daily.guess i can't,thanks!

I'm not sure of your age, but most collector car insuarance companies won't cover you until both you and the vehicle are 25+
