Re: Garage Toy

I have ran very large amp (80-100 AMP) usage CNC machines on rotary phase converters ... no problems, but as already mentioned the good ones are expensive.

That would be a rotary phase converter (sort of like a motor/generator, manufactures the third phase). They have static converters also that don't make noise. A lot cheaper than adding a 3 phase service or changing motors. The static converters have limited uses.

Re: Garage Toy

We have several of these at work, made by Kaeser Compressors. They are very quiet and ultra reliable. Most of the units we have run around 1000 cfm and are the size of a large refridgerator. The compressors that they replaced were the size of a pick-up and required tons of maintenance.

Re: Garage Toy

we have a similar compressor where i work about 6 feet from my bench. it is loud enough to interrupt a conversation but WAY better tan any piston type compressor ive ever heard. the tubing system is neat, but it leaks quite a bit(professionally installed). for my own shop i would rather have an insulated room for a piston type compressor.
