77 2wd w/ burb roof

here are a few pics of the 77 that I just picked up.
It has a burb roof grafted on,one door has been suicided( i will do the other one), 2.5" z'd frame, 2 link rear, contitech bags, and 24" Radd wheels. The body is in good shape, but the interior is shot.

I didn't notice that until you asked about it.
Looks like barn doors with no or shaved handles. That is the only thing I would have done different on the Hills Blazer.

Would it be possible to get some pictures of the rear door set-up; if its other than a standard 'burb barn door set-up.
Also, on the Hill's truck, they extended the body after the rear wheels back a bit to make it the same length as a 'burb (behind the rear wheels). I thought this had to do with using a standard piece of 'burb side glass; is the glass on your Blazer standard glass or custom cut?

The back window situation is far from cool.. those are the upper section of some barn doors, but a regular truck tailgate below them. This is one of the things i will be fixing/changing in the near future.

I believe on Hill's blazer they changed the rear body section so that the burb tailgate would work, not to make it longer. I think its stock length behind the rear wheel.

how about some pics of the suicide door hinge setup? i've been thinking about doing that and have been trying to figure out the best way on a blazer.

So it is like the "dutch doors" on an Astro van. Is it a poor execution of that or do you just not care for that style? I thought something like that might look cool.
Oh wait, on the Astro's the bottom half split in the middle with a "hatch" on the top. That would be cool if executed properly.

I was just looking at the Hills site. They used to have a series of pictures showing the build-up but I can't find those now?
In the article they have posted there from the Truckin's feature it says they extended the frame and body 2" to accomodate the 'burb roof.
But I remember in one of the build pictures you could see the original taillight pockets behind the new 'burb section. IIRC there was a gap between the old and new pockets too.
This left me with the impression that the rear section was at least 6" longer?
Now that I am thinking about it, it might of had something to do with matching up the door frames; the rear of the 'burb rear door frame to the front door on the Blazer???

I cant say for sure how they did theirs, but the suburban window trim fits perfectly at the door on mine. This would lead me to believe that the length is correct without adding to the rear.
If you compare the pics of mine and Jason Hill's I think you will see the proportion look about the same. If they added to the rear it doesnt look to be very much.

i stand corrected. after studying the pictures a little more closely, i can see the difference. i can also see that putting the barn door , or a burb gate for that matter, will be near impossible.
there probably is a slight difference in overall length.
