Lowering ???'s
Hey Im in the process of picking up a barn fresh 67 c10 shortbed. I wanna lower it but I have a few questions. Whats the most I can go without notching the frame? And what would I use to do this, I look thru the faq's but I cant find anything for A 67. I was thinking drop spindles and springs for the front and blocks and drop springs for the back. If anyone could shed some light Id appreciate it
Thanks,Mike Last edited by TERROR; 10-29-2008 at 11:00 PM. |

Re: Lowering ???'s
4/6 in my opinion would be the lowest that I would go. That would be with 2.5" drop spindles, 1.5" springs, 6" rear springs, shock relocators, super-trac bar,.... for $575.
Be sure to check out ECE (Early Classic Enterprises) for great parts and customer service. When you look at prices online be sure to call your order in as they will work with the price and shipping charges for one great price. I quoted their 4/6 kit and received a quote of only a few more bucks for the kit and shipping. Best of luck! By the way:

Re: Lowering ???'s
Thanks guys
Ill definitely check out that site. Im new to the whole truck scene but Ive been working on cars pretty much my old life, Im only 18 and me and my friends are pretty much the only kids into muscle cars, Im really into the old school stuff Im going to school in upstate,ny and I came across it, its been sitting in this guys yard for like 20 years or so. He said he was planning on cutting it up and making a trailer out of it, but I cant let that happen so he said hed take scrap value for it. The bodies pretty rusty but Im gonna leave it how it is, maybe do some pinstriping and paint some logo on the side and fade it, Its got a six cyl/ and a three speed on the floor but im going to replace them with a mild sbc (probably a 350 or 327) and a 4 speed. I had thoughts of dropping in a fuel injected lt1 or maybe an ls based motor but i might just keep it simple. My plans are to drop it, I have a set of old cragar mags im gonna put on it. The interior suprisingly is pretty clean, so its gonna get some old sun gauges and a slew of other old school speed parts ive been saving. Im currently working on finding a garage so I can work on it without getting frozen Ill try and get some pics of it tommarrow. Mike Last edited by TERROR; 10-29-2008 at 08:18 PM. |

Re: Lowering ???'s
You could probably find some in this thread....
Also conduct a search and look in the suspension forum and the 67-72 Message Board.

The draw-back is it's also pretty basic so there's no playing around or dumping the air for the 'on the rails' look. Check out posts 12~14 here for ride height & costs on a budget 'combo' set-up . ..... http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...highlight=bags .
