There is nothing cooler sounding that a properly tuned and jetted 795 quadrajet that's wide open.
Sure there is- a triple deuce with all 6 barrels wide open.

Rear disc swap & Hydroboost
Dually conversion with shackle flip-n-switch
4x4 conversion with 52" springs
Maybe some new body panels
Who needs a car when they make crew cab trucks?

Re: quad carb

It should, assuming none of the parts are warped/cracked/damaged.

Re: quad carb

It's too bad you live that far cause I would rebuild it for you.

If you're going to try and seal it up, clean the leaking area first, then paint
nail polish over the spot and let it dry a little while.
Sillycone will never ever seal up gasoline leaks.

I had an old holley that was off a old 60's flatbed 2 ton farm truck. I traded it and a few dollars for a mint rebuilt 800CFM quadrajet with a guy who works at Autozone who had it on a Chevelle 2 years ago.

For gas mileage get a 750CFM one off a car. The primaries are smaller, allowing more airflow velocity which is best for low- midrange torque and mileage. The secondaries are vacuum operated, and only open as much as needed. All of which is the beauty of the Quadrajet. No adapter or transmission bracket needed.

Out of all the carbs you have, is there at least one that is usable as is? At least for now?

Quadrajets are application specific (jets and rods, etc) so if you have a 350, use a 350 carb and it should be close enough. The 170 series 77-80 are best.

If you love taking things apart and seeing how they work, you'll like the quadrajet. Get the book "Rochester Caburetors" by Doug Roe, it is, the quadrajet bible.

I used to run a 1406 edelbrock on my Caprice. It is so simple, like a lawn mower carb. It is literally plug and play, except you need an adapter and trans bracket. Buying a tuning kit is cheap and easy to work with. But it costs about the same as 5 q-jet rebuild kits. For a novice, the Edelbrock is better. But the quad really is more of an advanced carb, in more than one way.

Re: quad carb

Nothing wrong with a quad on a basicially stock motor,at first they are very confusing but take pictures with a digital camera as you take it apart and this website has a lot of info http://www.florida4x4.com/tech/quadrajet/
