It's a polished stainless flex-line (like a straw) that you cut to length. Then theirs a rubber coupling with two hose clamps under that aluminum cover.

Hey John.........I know you have it figured out, but salazar44 asked........

I extended the stock tranny hard lines up to a 28K GVW B&M cooler and mounted it in front of the radiator with some straps. My tranny leaks like crazy but hasnt overheated!!!

Re: Easy Aluminum Radiator Upgrade....See Pics!!

Well, I got it buttoned up a few days ago, just in time for the big cruise.

Although, one thing I didn't realize when I ordered this radiator was the position of the lower inlet....I had to cut and rotate it downward. It worked out great after that !!!

John, was the prob with the lower inlet the angle or the height, or both? was it going to be in the way of the fan?
on a side note.....so much for it being a "drill and bolt-in", huh?
j/k with ya,

and here ya go, ditch you engine driven fan linky

It would of worked, but I didn't like the angle the lower hose was in.....the welding was a FREEBIE ! I might look into that fan...Nice addition

you think it will work with the stock hose with out moving the lower inlet?
or just too much angle to be good?
shouldn't cost much to have it re-welded locally.
man i need a tig or spool gun for the mig

Re: Easy Aluminum Radiator Upgrade....See Pics!!

I read thru the Chief's 'build' thread because of several suggestions (google search) that the alum radiator swap was in there. 20-something pages & nothing..... I went back thinking I missed something but the engine bay pics on p.15 show the old radiator; the next shots on p.18 show the alum one installed. I was like WTF!??

So I retried w/alum-radiator in my search & came back across this thread. Sheesh..... TTT for anyone else that might be looking for some good info.

Re: Easy Aluminum Radiator Upgrade....See Pics!!

I remembered the thread but was getting frustrated not being able to find it.
Now that I have . . ..... What's everyone use for an over-flow set-up? Anything decent that has a nice 60's look but has 'recirc' fuctionality?
