Re: Pictures of my $1000 Longhorn -
the GMC longhorns were called camper specials... depending on who you talk to. Some say they were, some say they weren't. Theres little to no GMC info out there.
As far as the site I linked to... I kinda figured everyone knew... that's my page. I am planning on revamping it here possibly this winter. |

Other than that, I don't think there were many differences between the Chevy and GMC versions. |

Re: Pictures of my $1000 Longhorn -
Hey, if you're serious, let me know, we can arrange something - I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this one - my wife's not entirely on board, if you know what I mean. It sure is fun to drive, though. It's actually a pretty comfortable truck to drive - it has a soft foam seat and with the long wheelbed it feels huge. I just want to see what she has when I get it tuned up and a new/rebuilt carb on her.

I'm glad to see you got it. I stood with my hands in my pockets at an auction sale and watched a chevy Longhorn go for $1100.00 with no rust and only 56000 miles on the truck. I am still kicking myself for that.

In 1970, that was the ideal vehicle to haul a camper. It looks like it was carefully optioned by the original owner to be a great recreational vehicle. It looks like a excellent deal for that much truck in today's dollars.

I agree. You would think the 396 and TH400 are worth the money alone.

Re: Pictures of my $1000 Longhorn -
He ordered it from the factory - if you noticeth e cowl is a different color, it's because the original cowl had shocks mounted on it, and eventually tore big holes in it. The mirrors have been torn off at least once, I think, as well. They are factory but I'm gonna take 'em off.

Re: Pictures of my $1000 Longhorn -
One interesting bit of info is that GMC introduced there version of the longhorn for the 1969 model year, not 1968, like Chevy.
