What is needed to make the '94 a drivable truck? Any more pics of it? Interior?

The interior is mostly gone. There is a dash with no instrumnet cluster, a rubber floor mat and a headliner. No door panels, busted column. The brake and clutch pedals are there. It was a diesel and the throttle servo/ assy is gone. The whole front clip is gone as well. Would be great if someone had a similar truck that was rusted out or wrecked, IMO.

More pics of the 72 AC cab. When I got the cab, it had been sitting for a while with no door on the driver side. I put a door on it I had to keep the weather out. There is sme spots of surface rust starting on the inside roof. It appears to me that this was caused bt the cab not having a door on it. The sealant is still intact in the drip rails. I have parted a few trucks and the ones that are rusted out round the windows also have cracks in the drip rail caulk, or the caulk is mising altogether. The foot well areas is OK, but the floors right at the door openings needs replacing. No rus at al anywhere in the firewall or underneath on the supports.

If I remember correctly, the PO sliced the pieces betweem the knob holes and main opening, then folded the pieces up, so it should be possible to fold them back and reweld them. The evaporator case in the last pic has been removed for use on another truck. I have another off a 71 Cheyenne that I parted that need work tha I will include if needed.

Re: 72 cab bare swb frame 72 doors swb & lwb fleet beds step fenders no spare cut out

The PO removed the cab with a strap and bent the drip rail some on both sides. I was able to sraighten it out almost completely. It will need a little dolly work still, nothing major. I removed the caulk in the gutter when I was working on this today. It was not cracked anywhere prior to this. No rust holes in the gutter that I can see. No rust inside door openings. I did not remove the caulk over the top of the windshield. It has one crack in the caulk there. I have had the cab under a tarp since I bought it a couple of years ago and have taken the tarp off for photos only.

There is a rusted through spot on the driver floor area (see first pic). Pass side looks OK, though (2nd pic)

I don't really need much...Would you happen to have any weatherstripping or cab mounts? How about a chrome rear sport bumper for a stepside truck? (I am in Texas, BTW)

Re: 72 cab bare swb frame 72 doors swb & lwb fleet beds step fenders no spare cut out

Cab sold to POPO1984. It was nice meeting you, Anthony. Too bad you live so far from me. I think we would get along well. Sorry if I talked your ear off.

On a side note, according to my thermometer, it was 18 degrees when POPO (Anthony) showed up. It really didn't feel that cold, as luckily there was no wind. Unfortunately, I planned to use my old '67 Massey Ferguson 2200 w/ front end loader to load the cab. It was too cold for the old worn out batttery. We tried jumping it and hooking every battery charger I had to it at once, with no luck. Luckily Anthony is very patient. I ended up swapping batteries and pulling the air filter out to try some ether. I was about to spray it when Anthony tried the key. She fired right up, which I am happy about, since I don't like using ether. That Perkins has made me a beleiver. There is no provison that I can see for a block heater or anything. Luckily we don't see temps below freezing here in Central Texas very often.

By the way, a 72 cab WILL fit in the back of a SWB truck, at least in an 08 GMC. Pics to follow.

I have a lot of pieces from trucks that I have parted that were being stored in the cab I sold. I took pics as I was unloading it. I will post them under another title as time permits. STAY TUNED!!!

"If you have ever used a tractor with a front end loader to load a pickup cab into the back of a pickup in sub freezing temperature, and had a good time doing it, you might have a -72 Chevy truck problem."

Re: 72 cab bare swb frame 72 doors swb & lwb fleet beds step fenders no spare cut out

I picked the cab up and let Anthony back under it, to avoid the possibility of smashing in to his nice red truck. We managed to get it loaded with no damage to the cab, his truck, or either one of us. I call that a good day.

Yep good to met you bro. The ride home went smooth. my wife drove for me so i got 2 hours of sleep. I already pulled the windshield out and there is no sign of rust in the windshield at all. Also some bad news some how I ended up with one of your chains. I dont know how we didnt see it since it was laying right on the floor board of the 71 cab.

The cost of sending me the chain should be equal to the value of the auto brake pedal assy, right?
