Re: Is it rare?????

Thanks for learnin`me,Andy.I`ll try to remember this time.Digging back in my memory I thought I had heard at some point in the`80s that they were discontinuing the long Stepside.Foggy...very foggy.I should have said 9' C/30 Stepsides stopped in`72.That`s what I meant...honest.
The last square bodied regular cab pickups were`87 with the exception of duallys. They stopped in`88,I believe...again(maybe`89).And,regular cab one ton cab`n`chassis in dual or single through`89.Those were the 60" cab to axle.133"wb,I guess,if it`s the same as 67-72s.

Re: Is it rare?????

I need mo`books.Readin`them is another matter.LOL

Yeah, the body changed for single cabs after`87,except dual wheel pickups and the 60" cab to axle regular cabs ran through`89.Crewcabs,Suburbans,and Blazer/Jimmys were built through`91 in the old style.`92 was the first year the entire line was the`88-up style.

PM me if any of you need an address for a dumping ground!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Is it rare?????

That`s a generous offer,El Jay.I`ll step up to accept any on the East Coast.not to step on your toes.Maybe we should establish territories.I even have a spare tire fender!

So,that was a Cornell vehicle, huh?I guess they changed how they rated trucks at some point.10,000 has always been a break off point in regulations between commercial vehicles and private.I guess GM reduced the rating to bring single wheels under commercial limitations.My`92 K3500 SRW is rated at 9,200.Yet,because the serial number says it`s a 3500 they still rate it as an over 10,000 GVW for registration. What a crock!

Re: Is it rare?????

Good Morning,

I have also just bought a 69 GMC C30 Longbed 2wd. I was wondering about the box. It has a 6-8" gap between the box and the cab of the truck. Everyone that I talked to says it was considered a construction box. Any Help would be much appreicated.

Just wondering-is that what would happen if a standard longbed box was put on a Longhorn?
