Re: Is it rare?????

if its a one ton, then it is a 9 foot stepside (the VIN should read CE347xxxxxxx to be a one ton with a factory installed step or fleet bed)
They made 4026 9 ft stepsides in 67... the 327 would be the rare part, but no way to confirm it's rarity by options though.

Re: Is it rare?????

I am pretty sure there is no such thing as a factory mounted snow plow, especially on a 2WD truck.

Re: Is it rare?????

Those C/30 pickups are pretty rare.Definately one of the lower number trucks of bunch.Options can narrow that to even more rare.Especially comfort and convenience items on such a truck.
At the dealerships a truck could be outfitted with any number of specialized features and apparatus through a book of vendors known as the Silver Book.Anything from campers to snow plows,to tow rigs,to extended cabs, and various work bodies. These items would be on the original order, but not done until after the truck was completed at the factory.
It sounds like a neat truck. Can`t wait to see it.

Options
6 Cylinder Engine -10% -10% -10%

Boo nada, losing 10% value for having the superior engine?

Also I think the chances of selling a car for nada value is nada.

Could not agree more!!!!!

Also consider that RARE does not always equal DESIREABLE! Most guys want a short fleetside not a long stepside.

Re: Is it rare?????

These lower production trucks were designed to be workhorses and definately standout in a crowd. Purchasing depends on what you plan to do with it. Remember, 67 1 tons are geared low. If condition and options are important, try to find one that was used as a recreation vehicle.

Thanks for posting the red 67 ClassicHeartbeat. Looks super clean and heavy duty. Period wheels and caps give it the "right look".

Re: Is it rare?????

Just because something doesn`t appeal to the mass mentality doesn`t mean it has no value, either.A rare, yet not what the mass desires can still become more valuable than what is more commonly sought after.
I like them all.I`m a truck lover, not a car convert. It`s funny, most real truck guys say the shortbeds are disproportionate. They are too short to haul alot of things.I guess it`s all what you`re used to looking at.I look at a pickup as an empty canvas.A truck waiting to be outfitted for a purpose other than tossing things into a bed.A bare pickup is a beautiful exception to what a truck is to me(which is what they were conceived for...work).That`s mostly how we see 67-72s these days.Trucks are a tradition going back to horse drawn wagons and that`s how I see them.there`s nothing that says "Proud Truck" like a fine example of a C/30 Stepside.I`m a contractor and make a living out of trucks.I can`t be without a longbed.A shortbed is just a handy little toy for me.I chuckle when I see these guys trying to operate out of shortbed extended cabs, now that those became more common on dealer`s lots. They go down the road with a load teetering on the tailgate and if they have ladder racks they are no longer than a longbed with the tailgate down. Most end up hauling trailers.Heck,a Suburban makes a better work truck than a shortbed extended cab.
Did I mention I think C/30 9' Stepsides are cool?

Don't misunderstand me...I love them. I think the long stepside in a lifted 4x4 is really cool! I have only seen a couple and think they are great. I just wanted to point out that in most markets you should be able to get a smokin' deal on them since everyone wants a short fleet.

Re: Is it rare?????

I love them stock.I like all the configurations stock. But,I look at these and have no desire to customize.Their beauty is built into them. Most guys into these trucks these days don`t like them as trucks or as factory original. How many stock shortbeds do we have here?It seems every time someone shows a shortbed sitting stock all you see are "slam it" responses.I`m thinking that`s the reason so many have no love for long Stepsides. It`s that most want to customize and these trucks say customize like a shortbed says farm truck.
I didn`t see where this guy asked anything about value, just rarity. He`s not looking at an investment,he`s looking at a cool old truck.I know among the antique truck collector world a C/30 Stepside would be more desirable than a short Fleetside.Besides, they still make short Fleetsides. They haven`t made C/30 Stepsides since 1972,I believe.Longbed Stepsides haven`t been made for 25 years.IIRC,they stopped before`87 in like`84.
