I've got a question on a 72 chev truck. PLEASE HELP

I am trying to hook up a toggle switch to start my truck. But i want it so you have to have the key in the igniton and in the start position, then hit the toggle to have the truck start. Anyone have any answers I would appreciate it thanks.

I did the same mod to a 79 chevy van I used to own,(key was so worn it wouldn't work anymore) it uses the same key switch as our trucks. take off the connector on the back of the key switch, it tells you what wire does what, one will be labled start , cut that wire and install your momentary on toggle between the ignition wire and start wire and you will be able to do a remote start in it and still use the orig key to power everything it is low amp so you won't need a big toggle

If I understand you want to have the key switch in the START position and have to use the momentary switch at the same time to start it? Just splice the start wire on the back of the key switch to run through the momentary switch. That way the momentary switch wouldnt get power until the key switch is turned to start.
