I think 4 for mine, I haven't looked it up but there was an original owner then a guy that repainted green and white two tone then my uncle stripped it in the late 80's and put a steel bed w/o the side tool box rebuilt the 350 and 350 tranny then painted it freakin brown w/metallic paint. Now i've had it for a couple of years.

I don't have a clue, but I wonder how I could find out? I wonder if GM would have any records with the original owners name.

Either 3 or 4 depending on how you look at it. It was bought by the Arizona parks department in 72 and driven by the same man until he retired. After he retired in the early ninties he bought the truck from the state. In 1999 or so a gentleman from Iowa bought the truck as project. He had it until 2001 when I bought it. It has been either garged or in Arizona every year except one.

Big Blue has had three including me. My dad bought it from the sheriffs auction for $400 from under a guy that he had put away for murder. Dad kept the truck until 1985, then i bought it for $400 and Blue has now turned over 252,000 miles!!!!!!!

Interesting responses. The most common response appears to be 3 owners. Obviously these must be good vehicles to command that kind of loyalty. The average would be ownership of more than 10 years which has to be long by the standards for most vehicles.

I am the third owner since my truck was first registered in the UK in April 1997. I have no idea how many owners it had before it left on its long journey across the Atlantic. All I know is it was a California vehicle originally and a basic spec L6 engined truck when it left the factory.

Here in Pa, they used to use letters like "A" for first owner, "B" for the second owner, etc but they stopped that sometime in the 80's. In fact, I still have one like that for my '63 Impala. When I was a teenager, I had a 70 Chevelle and I was the 18th owner!!! It was an "R" title. Who can beat that one???
I found out that the last digit of the title number tells what number owner you are now. Im the 9th owner of my 69 short step and the 7th on the 71 C-20. The only thing im not sure of is if a vehicle goes from one state to another. They may start over again with the numbers. ??? This works for Pennsylvainia but may be the same for other states so check those titles!

Casey, I'm doing title searches on mine, once I get all the info I will post it, so far I know all owners back to 1991 in Kentucky but it came out of Tennessee so I am doing a title search by vin in Tennessee for it too. One thing to be aware of, mistakes on title and vin numbers are more common than you would think and will often go unnoticed for two or three titles. Kentucky charged me $3.00 and Tenn charged $15.00. Hope this helps someone.
Roger P.S. Mine has been through a lot of owners... but that has come to an end!

raggedjim I'll watch for your post, to see what you find out, I'm not positive but I kind of suspect I'm the 3rd owner as well, my truck came to canada from seattle area, so it might be hard to check out its past

Three - my grandpa bought it brand new in Coolidge in October of 1970 (likely at a great discount too), gave it to my mom in '73, and I've been driving it / fixing it up since '98.
I'm not selling it.
