How many owners has your truck had?
Another post made me wonder how many people know how many owners their trucks have had. Also wondered how many are still held by their original owners.
My own truck is a 2nd owner so far as I am aware. It was bought new by the local university and used in their fleet by the plant science department for its early life. It is a 1968 and they sold it to us in about 1985 so they had it about 17 years and we have had it since. That is 18 years so we have had it more than half of its life. I cannot recall for certain if it has ever been registered to me or not. It is currently in my wife's name and I think it has been since we got it which would make it a second owner vehicle. Not bad for 35 years. Whenever I think about selling it I realize that It would be darned hard to replace it if I should ever change my mind.

2 or 3 depending on how you want to look at it.
I got my truck from the original owner's son who inherited it when his dad passed away in 1985.

From what I gathered from the p/o, my truck was sold in late '69 to Mr. X (no one knows who he was). Mr. X traded in the truck for a 1970 model at the dealership, where the p/o's uncle bought it for the farm. it was used to pull/push things around the farm, not really being driven on the road much. then, the uncle died and the nephew inherited it, around the late 90's. he had it a couple years and didn't really use it at all. then he sold it on eBay to me.

My father ordered the truck and took delivery of it in Feb of 1971. I was born in June of same year. he told me last year he was going to sell the truck and i about had a fit!! I told i have had plans for that truck for years once he died!! he got a strange look on his face and trailered the truck too me about 6 months later. It has been in the valley of Arizona its entire life until a year ago and now live in oklahoma. I still have original title, trying to con him into filing for lost title and signing that one over to me so i can keep orig. The truck will be past down to my son who is now 12 1/2. He is already excited.

I'm # 3
I'm #3 BUT #1 kicked the krap outa it & my uncle (#2) worked it hard too. Mr. #1 ran a land scaping business & hauled a front-end loader in the bed by putting the scoop ahead of the wheel wells & lifting up the front wheels of the loader - making it a trailer... He beat the truck baddly & he only ordered two options - helper leafs in the rear & an 11" HD clutch - all else is stock. (aside of course from the manadatory Canadian options that you had no choice from GMC- i _think_ they were a 195 thermostat, a block heater & defroster vents)

I am number 4. The original owner bought it in 72 from Van Chevy in Kansas City which reopened 2 years ago after being closed for about 10 years I believe.
Then My great uncle forest bought it in 74. My Grandpa bought it from him in 84. It was parked in 1993 and then I started her back up in April of 01.

When I bought my truck new in 1970, it was a black on black CST
short bed stepside 350 350. 33 years later I still own the truck, but now it looks like a 72 super cheyanne 4X4 427 4spd with just about every option you could get. Still love it. $3400.00 out the door in 1970. Rick-CA. |

#2 or #3 depends how you look at it. The guy I bought it from got it from his dad when his dad died. As far as what the guy told me his dad ordered a blazer in 1969 when they first came out, but the plant where he ordered it went on strike and couldn't fill his order so in 1970 he finally got his order filled and got a 1970 blazer.

i am number 3, the original owner was a doctor and bought the truck in oklahoma city used it to do small tasks around his land and to pull his camper, the guy that bought it off of him was the kid that mowed his yard saw it sitting out beside the barn, this was about 85, this kid graduated highschool, became a mechanic and moved to texas, about 1992 the truck was parked and then in 1998 he rebuilt the engine and tranny had it fixed up a little bit, got a divorce and sold it to me.

I am the third. I bought it from a friend that bought it from the original owner whe it still had 14,000 on the clock. It had 62,000 when I bought it.
A 69 I have as my next project ( has fire damage) was an original owner truck when it ended up in the salvage yard.

Don't know, and don't care. I just get in and drive. Put on some Beach Boys or Eagles and just vibe. I figure I'll eventually do frame-offs on both some everything will be fixed in due time.
