Re: Jethro's fan belts
I found something in the junkyard that'll do the trick. '79 Firebird. And that paint is actually black. Funny how the camera sees things sometimes.

Looks like it hung itself with Jethro's belt.

Re: Jethro's fan belts
I got all the pulleys on and lined up today. Looks like it oughta work, but... man, does it ever look funky. I'll get a picture tomorrow once I get the 600 foot v-belts installed.

Re: Jethro's fan belts
Back to your origonal question, the compressor fittings can be rotated to any position. As has been said, adjustable water neck will cure that problem.
My junk has a short water pump, Alan Grove brackets (slightly modified!) and single groove PS pulley (not pressed on yet). I went with a single and double on the crank. The guys at Grove's are really knowledgeable. Pic's to confuse.

Re: Jethro's fan belts
Okay. Now all I have to do is convince the parts guy to let me borrow 5 or 6 v-belts and tweak around until I get the best fit. Uncle Jed says I should just leave it run on the rope.

Re: Jethro's fan belts
Take the rope and put it around the pulleys.Stretch it to the size you need.(Just big enough to go on at shortest adjustment. Then mark the rope.Go to parts store and get that length of belt.Instal.Bleed air from PS.enjoy.

Re: Jethro's fan belts
Getting closer. Still have some wiring left to do, and the top radiator hose.
