Re: Vent window assembly restoration??
I just rebuilt mine the other day. It's really no problem. The nuts and bolts of it take maybe thirty minutes each. Any extra cosmetic refinish work you do above that will add whatever time.
I used the Precision brand seals and a rivet kit all from Classic Parts. I don't remember exactly but it seems like I had about 50-60 bucks invested in all of it. The crux of it is that you remove 9 rivets per side, replace the rubber seals, and replace the rivets. The vendors sell a little rivet set tool for 4 dollars that you use along with their rivets to do the job. You just clamp the tool in your vise and peen the new rivets down with a hammer and punch. On a 1-10 difficulty scale it's about a 4. I didn't take any completed pictures of them because there's really nothing to see. They look new, they don't leak, and the rubber is nice and supple.

Re: Vent window assembly restoration??
This summer I bought an entire passenger side assembly in great shape at a junkyard for $50, so look around. All my driver's side needed was a gasket and a latch, both readily available.
