Re: ford & ih trucks
I started to mock up my 1950 yesterday. It is sitting on a shortbed frame and is lining up pretty good so far. I'm hoping to put the bed on it later this week. Of course it is going to have to come down a few inches!

Re: ford & ih trucks
Yeah, seeing yours got me wanting to get started on mine! I'll have to start a build thread. It is on a 69 frame with 87 front ifs and I have a 72 rear that I'll put on it to make it all five lug. I'm going to use the whole body because those big fat front fenders just look too cool!

Im in thr process of doing a 73 disk swap on mine. Is your 72 your going to run have leafs of trailing arms? Id like to do a swap for the rear to 5 lug. I kinda like the deep dish look so i'd end up cutting the centers out of the rear rims and having them rewelded 2" further in. Theres a guy that did that on his older chevy with the 20" dodge rims, then had them chromed and it looked KILLER! Dangit! Looking at those pictures of mine with the fenders again, it looks pretty rad! |

The stock bracing will remain in place except 1 which will be relocated to provide placement for the fuel cell at the rear of the frame. |

Re: ford & ih trucks
HA! I started to but i only made it about 7 in before i gave up on that.
I ended up using a metal blade on a skil saw to cut the whole floor with about 1 1/2" remaining around the whole bed. Eventually i should cut the rest off by drilling the spot wleds but thats gonna take forever and there will be TONS of holes to fill and grind. |

Re: ford & ih trucks
Id pull it out and snap a few but i moved the engine back on the cab 12 inches and the cab about the same. So the wheels wont line up anywhere close to the fenders. Guess i could rig it up to look like there supposed to be there
