What gears are you planning to run with the 46"s? I have 395/85-20's, (46.5" tall) on a couple trucks. They do increase top end but, sap speed/power in the up grades. And that is with 6.72 gears. |

Re: how much lift to clear 46s?
If your not going to trim your fenders it would behoove you to move the front axle forward some.
Without trimming I would say a 12" spring, longer shackles, zero rate ( or ez inch) in the front. Out back something to match, then a 3" body lift, you still might rub a little bit. But there are tons of ways to do this. 12" springs ride like a brick, those springs posted above make a brick look like a cushy pillow. The don't have much movement at all. The best way here I think is to get a B-52 kit from DIY 4x, then some custom deavers, you should be able to get about 15" of lift out of a decent riding spring and the longer spring will help the ride. Even with that you will probably still need the body lift. Don't forget steering. Crossover steering is best at those nosebleed heights

Re: how much lift to clear 46s?
its gana take some axle work up front to get that pinion angle right and you will still overheat your u joints
cutting the weld on the inner c's and clocking them to get the caster right and building the front spring hanger lower then the shackle so you dont have to wedge it so much the rear is easer just cut the perches off and weld on new ones i would see if you can get a driveshaft made with cv joints for the front
