Re: My Latest C10 - Unbelievable.

It's a long story... My parents ordered an exact clone to this 84, had the dealership paint the rockers and cab dark blue, and promptly installed my carseat. I loved the truck, but it was sold in my teenage years. It was the first vehicle I ever drove.

From that day, I've always had a strong attraction to 84's, and built the tan one that is in my profile pic. I sold it when a local guy made an excellent offer, and instantly regretted it. I've also owned a string of 84 LWB parts trucks and others.

I've been looking on craigslist every couple days since I sold my tan 84, but in that time also located and bought the trashed remains of my parent's original 84. When I told my brother I was ready to find another 84 and we both started looking every morning, trying to find "the one" to have. Last Wednesday night, he sent me a link and said "it's the one" and was only about 100 miles away in a private collection.

We were on the road the next day, made the deal and returned the Friday with bundles of $100 bills... Now it's mine and I've already ordered my "NICS 84" personalized tag. It will never be for sale again.

Looks Awesome for a 84... did you have to give over 15 for it?

I try to never say what I paid for my vehicles (just a personal quirk), but no... I paid much less than 15,000 for it.

Doesn't matter anyway, someone always pays more and someone always pays less. And there's always some way that they would have spent your money differently. All that really matters is you got a very nice truck.

Re: My Latest C10 - Unbelievable.

I am meeting with the appraiser in the morning and will be taking lots of pics over the weekend. I will try to document all that I find, but so far the only aftermarket parts I've found are the dual exhaust and a generic replacement radiator. Thank you to everyone for the encouragement and kind words.

Be good to it, preserve it, don't be afraid to drive it, but be conscious of the miles you put on it. Survivors like this are few and far between!
