33.12 whats the correct rim with 8 or 10

I meant to say whats the best tire size for a 10 inch rim in 33 height

I have centerline imitations right now. with 33.12 on 16.5 tall 16x8 rim.

I am going with wheel vintiques 82 series steel wheel in a 16x10. The 12.5
tire looks kinda narrow already with the 8 inch wide wheel. What is the best tire
for a 10inch wide rim in a 33 series?? thanks.

I ran 15x10 ris with 33s for years on my 80K20 without any axle, wheel bearing troubles. My 86 K20, had it for 3.5 years,90,000 Kms with 35s on 15x10 rims & no troubles either.Keep your bearings packed & set up right, you will be fine.

Depends on what your gear ratio is currently. I have 3.73's in mine and that's about the lowest I would want to go with my 35's. With my past 33's it wasn't an issue.

I have always ran 8" wheels with my 12.50's with good luck, but I'd guess you would want to stay 12.50" width in order to keep them under the fenders.

Re: 33.12 whats the correct rim with 8 or 10

3.73s or 4.10s work good with 35s.My 86 runs about 2500 at 100k (62mph) in direct.I'm not a fast driver & this truck spends 50% of the time on dirt/gravel roads so it works good.I ran 3.42s behind a 6.2 two years ago on 35s but that was almost too tall.My 82 with 6.2/3.73s & 35s works good too,if I get into mud or snow, just throw it into low range. The 80 K20 has a 454/465 with 4.10s on 33s,but 3.73s might work better for it.Pulls good though..

You will love the wheel vintiques 82's! My 91' V30 crew on 16x10's, 38x15.5 Toyo's and they look awesome. I'm running 4.56's but with 33's you'll be fine not changing gears for DD use.

Re: 33.12 whats the correct rim with 8 or 10

I ran 33x12.5 15's for years on may different trucks 8"s and 10"s. Any tire larger than stock will increase wear rate on many parts and cost you mpg.

33 on a 16" will look smaller than on a 15" because you are losing side wall height to gain rim size. Also 33x12.5 on a 10" wide rim will not have much sidewall bubble, and if you air down off road you will have a better chance of losing a bead or wheel lip damage. 35" is when I would start to look at ratio's.

on your truck I would go 15x10 and 33x12.5's it would look nice. I think that 16" would be like a 305/65/16 on a 16x10, and they look skinny beside the 15x10's

just my 2c.

I have 15x10 8 bolt rims on two of my trucks, the 82 & 86. You have to grind the caliper a bit,but it can be made to fit.

I have drums on the rears, the 82 had to grind the fins some. The 86 has a full floater & they fit no problem.

Re: 33.12 whats the correct rim with 8 or 10

I better clarify this first,on the front axle you will need to grind the caliper & backing plate to clear the rim.If your rear is a full floater, they will bolt right up without any issues.A 14 bolt semi float will need the fins on the drum ground down a bit. It's not the ideal set up,but I got a real good deal on these 15x10 rims so I made it work.My 86 had the 15x10 8 bolts on it when I bought it.Sorry for any confusion before eh!!
