Re: Tilt column help needed please
tilt column wiring
1) black = horn ... the horn button grounds this wire to activate the horn relay 2) purple = feed from flasher 3) light blue= LH front turn signal 4) white = feed from brake light switch 5) dark blue = RH front turn signal 6) gray = illumination for auto trans gear indicator 7) yellow = LH rear turn signal & LH brake light 8) green = RH rear turn signal & RH brake light 9) brown = feed from hazard flasher (your 65 won't have this) 65 wiring harness 1) black = horn (same as the black wire on the tilt column) 2) purple = turn signal feed from flasher (same as purple wire on tilt column) 3) light blue= LH front turn signal (same as lt blue on tilt column) 4) white = feed from brake light switch (same as white on tilt) 5) dark blue = RH front turn signal (same as dk blue on tilt) 6) gray = illumination for auto trans gear indicator (same as tilt) 7) yellow = LH rear turn signal & LH brake light (same as tilt) 8) green = RH rear turn signal & RH brake light (same as tilt) So with the exception of that brown hazard flasher feed, all of the other wires should be a direct color to color match. If that doesn't work (and everything was working okay before the tilt column swap) I would suspect a defective switch in the tilt column. |
