Re: Frustrated! Glass install

Fuc# safelite, I called them to do an install on my 73 K5, no trim just a basic new windshield and gasket. Made the appt a few weeks ahead of time then checked to verify the appt as I was flying up to get the truck and drive down and they told me the truck was too old for them to install the windshield. I explained it was the same as a 91 suburban but no go. Most expensive quote, worst customer service total waste of time!

Re: Frustrated! Glass install

Well got the glass in. Will not be doing that again anytime soon! But the precision gaskets are well with the money!

Re: Frustrated! Glass install

That is a clean install!!!!!!! The stainless trim looks seated really well. How does the inside front window gasket look?

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Frustrated! Glass install

The inside looks great. The top corners need so be pulled just a little bit with a hook. The one I have really wasn't what I needed so will massage that area when I get a better hook.

Re: Frustrated! Glass install

Looks great, I've got to do both of mine and am very nervous of trying to do it myself. Funny thing is, I'm also nervous of paying someone to do it, if I can't guarantee they'll do it right. Yours look really good though. Hope mine turns out as nice.

Re: Frustrated! Glass install

Nice job on installing the gaskets...with the stainless steel trim too. If you call a glass guy and tell them you have trim to install too they usually double the price.
