that would have been my suggestion! If I can make a second suggestion, save the old stake pocket you remove, and remove it carefully!

Re: Lower a 49 rolling OG chassis?
I have a question I am looking at buying a 1950 Chevy truck and the guy selling says its sitting on a full size 89 Chevy truck frame. I didn't think a full size frame would fit under these trucks. Does anyone have any experience with this? Just FYI it has the running gear from the late model truck a 4.3 v6 and five speed manual trans.

That is great. Always a feeling of accomplishment when you get behind the wheel for a ride! Nice.

Re: Lower a 49 rolling OG chassis?
chad sent a couple videos. remember that at the beginning of this year, this was just a rolling chassis!
I love the skinny wheel look, I am going with 15x6 or 16x5 on my 41.

Re: Lower a 49 rolling OG chassis?
When using the g body style rearend with upper and lower control arms go with coil overs and ditch the springs.. Ride is allot better.. At least that is what is done on my truck..I am running an 02 SS Camaro rear with disk brakes, 3:73 gears.
