72 highlander

Hey there, just wanted to get some advice and suggestions on my door panels for the interior. It's the original panels. Should I buy new ones? , paint the old ones?, or just clean them the best I can and keep them? Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

No new ones are available. I would either blast with walnut shells or recycled glass. If you think you may want to redye, I'd go with recycled glass since walnut shells leave on oily residue.

IMO if they need blasting, I wouldn't bother. I found a set at the junk yard that I was going to clean up and sell, but ended up throwing them out as they were just too far gone.

I have the same door panels. I put them in the bathtub and washed them real good with soap and water, then use SEM Products https://www.semproducts.com/ to clean, prime and recoat.

In my case it's been about six years and they still look great.

Re: 72 highlander

There is a really nice set of exactly those (saddle color, year, highlander, etc) on ebay right now for $249....great deal relative to the amount of work you will have to put into those.
Search under '72 chev door panels and you will probably find them.

All good
