Just curious which style you went with, I have a 66 C10 and plan to bag it in the future. It'll be lowered for now, but don't want any fitment issues down the road.

Nice looking setup by the way!

They are the C10 specific (same part number as Chevelle) LS swap long tubes. The reason they work so well is due to the dropmember raising the engine. Stock engine location, I think the collectors will hang down 1.5” or so, too much for a heavily lowered or bagged truck, in my opinion.

I just noticed that you're running a coilover drop member, am I right? If your truck was bagged running a PB crossmember, do you think your headers would work?

I'm thinking to prevent for future clearance issues, the shorty headers would be a better option for me.

Thanks for your response and help on this!

No worries, this is why we post, to help each other out

Yes, the bagged Dropmember uses the same geometry as the coilover version, so they would fit with the same magic as mine, probably better, due to the absence of the upper coilover mounts.

For me, shorty headers are are not worth the pain that comes with them (blown gaskets, burnt wires, etc). There are a few nice mid-length options out there that will fit the bill and will not lose too much in translation. Hedman comes to mind with their C10 specific mid-lengths—thick head flanges, heavy gauge tubing, and ball/socket collectors. Uncoated I think are under $300

Re: Speed Engineering LS Swap Headers Findings

Out of curiosity, has anyone measured the flange thickness on these headers?

I do not see it listed on the web site.

Also, any idea where they are made?

They are thick. A friend that is with ECR (their corvette racing side) looked at mine yesterday and thought they were actually kooks (high $$$). He was amazed when I told him they were cheap-o chinese specials.

They are 3/8" flanges.
