Re: 67-72 Dealer Promo Trucks:1/24 Scale
Nothing humble about that collection. You have at least one from each year. Just having one is something special, since these were not something that was only available at a dealership.
I made a mistake in the title. These are 1/25 scale. Don't know how I messed that up. I have a thing for 1/25 over 1/24. It's just enough difference to not be the same. It seems Monogram had the idea to have their own scale at 1/24. In my model building teens I decided I didn't like the difference and realized I didn't like Mongram's models as much, in general, as the AMT, MPC, and Revell models that were all 1/25. Even Johann models were 1/25. So I pretty much stayed away from Monogram models.

Re: 67-72 Dealer Promo Trucks:1/24 Scale
Quick question....were these pre-assembled plastic models? pre-painted? or were these typical kits of that era that you had to glue and put together yourself?
....or were they metal? Either way, very cool! Coley

Re: 67-72 Dealer Promo Trucks:1/24 Scale
I believe they were made in the same molds by the model kit companies and I guess the same polystyrene. They were molded in body color throughout with the few chrome pieces. All assembled. No opening hood or engine inside. No loose pieces like mirrors that would have come in kits. Wheels roll freely. Pretty sturdy considering all plastic. They could take a little light play, unlike any model kit I built. It's funny, they still had buddy buckets in the '69s. AMT hadn't changed their mold yet.
Here is part of my collection. I only have these two pictures. I need to build a case to fit the 12.

Re: 67-72 Dealer Promo Trucks:1/24 Scale
I didn't know they made promo trucks. I do have a promo 65 t-bird that I was given in 65.

Re: 67-72 Dealer Promo Trucks:1/24 Scale
I saw a couple of promos for sale on Fakebook, the '68 was a wreck, bed was cracked, dude was asking $110! Someone snagged them within a week.
I build models, since I had the '69, got the AMT GMC step side (still sealed), the re-popped Blazer (Crew Chief), and three of the pickups. Even got resin grills. I want to build them!
