Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!

I see a lot off possibilities in those pictures. At my age, 84, I won't be restoring any more trucks but I still like to look at the pictures and imagine what I would do if I could. I have a 96 Silverado now, bought not built. I'm happy that Georgia didn't have a title law until 1963. I have had about a dozen trucks that were older than 63 models so never had to deal with titles with them. I just used a BOS and the tag registration if I ever needed it.

It isn't too difficult here in Washington state with a good bill of sale and documentation that you legally obtained the other major parts. It's been a while but I heard about a guy with a high dollar street rod who got turned down because he had no documentation as to where he had legally obtained the major parts although they were obviously very spendy parts. Word was that he didn't keep any receipts because he didn't want his wife to know how much he spent although he had probably 50 K in it. I think he finally got it resolved but no one fools their wife on what they spent anyhow.

I have a 3 ring binder with plastic page savers for each project I have that I put receipts or bills of sale for major parts, copies of the original add on FB or Craigslist or ??? (yup I paid 600 dollars because that is what they had i for sale for in the add).
Simple documentation that shows I legally obtained each major component and where I got it. That includes a copy of the title and the paperwork from the scrap yard I sold the hulk to for the engine, trans adn rear for one project that has been on the back burner way too long. I usually stick a where and how I found it and bought it photo or two including finding it at a swap meet. it doesn't cost much to have photos printed out at the places you can still get them printed and they don't have to be put it in a frame quality to go in the build book.

My ongoing truck projects:
48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
