I would use a 1/4" drill bit to remove the spot welds and then I used a thin long cold chisel to split the two sheet metal layers. Sometimes there was still some of the spot weld holding, which is where the thin chisel comes in. But anyway the point is I needed to put a fair amount of gronk on some of those welds to get them to separate. The choice to not use wheels really worked out well. I also made the stand high enough that I could sit on my shop rolling stool and work comfortably. You can just see the stand in these two pics.When I was done working on the cab I cut the welds on the stand and put the pieces back into my scrap steel pile.

Looks like a pretty nice setup you have. My cab is sitting on a rolling wooden cart, so I am doing the all that metal work on that before I put it on a rotisserie to paint underneath.
