Re: Project 6 Point Oh
Very nice build. I picked up a few things reading through it. Looking forward to more progress.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
What color is that on your transmission? Is that also POR-15?

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
It's actually one of a very few things that I've painted with a rattle can. But it looks great. Here is a pic of the label. The color is Cast Iron.

http://www.amazon.com/Flange-Serrated-Screws-Stain...They're stainless bolts. Here is the link to Amazon where I bought them. I put them on front and rear diff covers.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
I'm running into the same problem with the rear brake hose. The brake line attaches to the hose with 7/16" fittings correct and the 3/8" fittings go to the brake drum? What did you tell inline in order to get the larger diameter tee fitting for the hose. I tried to explain when I order from inline but got a tee that fits the 3/8" fittings. Thanks for the help.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
The only thing that I told them was that I wanted a brake hose for a 1972 K5, that was 4" longer than stock (because of my lift kit). And it was the correct one when it came in.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
Haha no. As a matter of fact, I've been so busy at work, that I haven't touched the Blazer in months. I hope to slow down some this summer and get back at it.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
Been a while since I posted. I got the fuel lines buttoned up. I test fit the high mount A/C brackets, and afterwards painted with POR15 and reinstalled.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
I thought that I'd take the front shaft to the local drive shaft shop and have them rebuild the cardan joint, and while they were at it, I thought that I'd have them replace all the u joints in both shafts to save me the trouble. Well, I explained to them if they'd clean them up real good and put a nice paint job on them, I'd let them do it all and not just the cardan joint. I made it clear that these were going on a very nice restoration. Well, I couldn't believe my eyes, they didn't even take off all the grease/dirt before balancing or painting. I should have done it myself, because I had to re do their crap work.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
So I finally bought me a tig welder and a Stainless Works 2.5" "builders" exhaust kit. It's 304 stainless and has straights, 90's, 45's etc. I'm still learning to tig, so don't be too harsh on my welds lol. Also bought some Borla Pro XS mufflers.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
Vibrant V band clamps were way better than Stainless Works. The hangers were Stainless Works and worked great.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
I've got both sides plumbed over the rear axle, and that's where I'll stop until I can get the body back on and see where the rear quarter panel sits. Then I'll finish it out behind the rear tires.

Re: Project 6 Point Oh
Now I'm going to get it to where I can start it and check everything out before I put the body back on. I got core support and radiator on, now to figure out what hoses to get.
