Re: What Ya'll get done this Mardi Gras Weekend?

I spent all weekend with a whole bunch of friends / family cleaning up my new house and property. The old owners left a whole lot of garbage, including a car for me to look after. Then we found a problem with the plumbing so I went into the crawl space and started ripping and tearing.

Re: What Ya'll get done this Mardi Gras Weekend?

I went to the swap meet and scored some killer deals on neat parts.

Got a real heavy duty old drill press for 50 bucks. I had to use my engine hoist to move it. It is too heavy to move manually. I also got a coffee can of 5/16 fender bolts (the pointy ones with built in washers), freshly cad plated at the swap meet for 3 bucks.

I rebuilt and installed a manual steering box. What a beating, taking 5 boxes apart to scavenge the best pieces to make one out of.

Installed a glove box into the beater.

Met some board members at the swap meet too.

Re: What Ya'll get done this Mardi Gras Weekend?

I drove 15 hours to Grand Junction CO and back, with my wife. The mountains are beautiful with lots of snow and very clear roads. Don't know that I've been over the mountains before during the winter.

Came home and washed the truck, mostly the engine, for the first time. I removed the stock radio and speaker which were not working and discovered that my old pioneer tape deck will fit. The next plan was an 8 track. I just got to have FM.

Well, I know it doesn't count for the weekend, but I didn't get anything done over the weekend. I just got done drilling holes for the driver side air ride plate. Went better than I was expecting.. maybe I'll get this thing together afterall.
