Re: Headers for lowered Big Blocks
Not installed yet. Just back from a business trip and waiting for better weather/shop space...blah..blah...
A couple guys on here have used them with success, but I know it would be nice to see some good pics. They look nice out of the package for the price (coating has some minor dings). Last edited by Frizzle Fry; 02-12-2008 at 05:37 AM. |

Re: Headers for lowered Big Blocks
If you really want a ball type flange, Summit sells a set from Flowmaster, I think, you just cut the flange off of the header and weld it on, then use the other end on the pipe? I don't think a little mild steel at the bottom of the headers would effect the ceramic coating that much? Let's see picts, cause I have BBC going into my 2wd Blazer.

Re: Headers for lowered Big Blocks
Why is everyone going with Block Huggers / Shorty's ? Is this just because of Clearence issues? And Full-Length headers hang too low to the ground?
I just removed A Pair of Sanderson's they were Block Huggers as well? These came of my 454BBc 72 C-10. Now that everyone seems to know alot about the Shorty's Can any body help me out with Full-Length headers ? "PLEASE" I am a little short on cash I have notthing But Plastic to pay with, But heres what I was looking at and im ready to buy this week any input would be greatfuly apreciated Thanks guys! Flowtech 31530FLT http://store.summitracing.com/partde...530FLT&FROM=MG The cheapest But then again who wants CHEAP! Re: Headers for lowered Big Blocks
Just moved to a new house with a shop yesturday! It doesn't have a garage door yet (was used as a woodshop), so... as soon as I have the ability to move a truck in there the headers are going on.
But I'm traveling for the next 7 weeks... Someone else has to have put these on by now? |

Re: Headers for lowered Big Blocks
Start a thread about it. You should get better responses if you ask specifically about full length BBC headers in your title.
Yes we want the 3/4 length for clearance. Even at stock height or lifted I would still want to keep the pipes above the frame. Quote:

Re: Headers for lowered Big Blocks
They're on guys no grinding required (well maybe a tad on the TH400... read link). See pics at post 759 here. My only complaint is that they came with reducing header connectors and I'm going with 3" tubes so I had to buy some non-reduction connectors. Also the column shift linkage will definitely have to be reconfigured in order to route over the tranny xmember, but that would be the case with any header. I'm hoping to use the Lokar rod set-up but if that won't fit I'll go with their cable system.
