Re: Factory color truck photos
This is OLGREEN. It had the factory paint on it before it was redone in late 2007.

Re: Factory color truck photos
I edited the original post to include an "after" shot. This truck was painted with several coats of Rustoleum, applied with a roller, wet sanded and buffed. A friend of mine named Jon from www.stovebolt.com got OLGREEN from me and did the restoration from his garage. He turned that sow's ear into a silk purse.

Re: Factory color truck photos
I see there is one pic of a gold 66 stepside here.
I have a 66 swb custom with a gold firewall with the original grease marker letters on it. Thing is, I can't find where gold was ever an option in 66. None of the color charts list it. |

Re: Factory color truck photos
Am guessing your gold firewall is actually fawn - and many, but not all, were painted that color regardless of body color. Also, I believe the gold stepside in the pic above is actually fawn also. But who knows! Sure looks good tho.

Re: Factory color truck photos
Chevy did have a gold color that was new for '66, but they called it "saddle metallic". Check your kick panel for paint code. IF it says "SPL" your color is not saddle metallic and was a special order gold color maybe from the car line.

Re: Factory color truck photos
Blue? The original custom camper I posted #16 is a new for '66 silver metallic. There is a dealership emblem installed on cowl.It is a tutone with white, so original wheels are painted body color, silver.

Re: Factory color truck photos
Not sure if it's 100% correct, but this looks very close to the Auto Color Library's yellow for 1965:
Delmo's old '65 with original Fawn paint with patina: Another Delmo creation with original Gray paint with patina: Original paint '64 Chevy C-10: Dino's '64 Chevy C-10 Pro Street with original Turquoise paint: And a beautiful Light Blue '65 Chevy C-10 restoration:
