Amazing what $12 worth of engine paint and a few cans of carb cleaner will do, Hopefully I can give this beauty a home before too long, I regasketed it found out the block was painted with hot lap on the inside and the rotating assembly is balanced with some nice looking aftermarket pistons as well

Well got a little free time and a clean garage, so I brought it over to my house and found a home for the 400, Looks to be in BAD need of a new harness, not only is it hacked, it is extremely brittle. I put in some Warn premium hubs and I got the beauty rings and caps on.

Any suggestions on AFFORDABLE wiring harnesses? I have a summit brand in my blazer and am really happy with it other than the fuse block, It has the mini fuses and the location of fuses is on the cover. Also, What do these plugs in the engine harness go to? The first one is in with the starter wiring and 2 green wires going to it, the other is attached to the drivers fender well.

Wire 1 - Backup light switch on 4 speed tranny. Truck was originally a 4 speed.

Wire(s) 2 - Alternator. Stock alternator location is on LH side of engine

make one that is suited for your truck. i went and bought the wire from napa and only used the wire tat i needed. Bought bulk trailer wire, it ad 10 dfferent ires and it heav gauge wires in it. I did the hei convertion at the same time so that made it simpler when doingthe ing. and starter wires but is reall simple wen you use the diagram

Changed out the drivers exaust manifold, i had 2 passenger side ones.

I also changed out the custom draglink and will be having a new driveline made due to custom modifications

Got some pictures of the guages installed and the dash painted up, started on a rear bumper for it, and will be going in for dual 2.5" exhaust with H pipe and flowmasters in the next few days

A little update. I need to add a bunch more pictures. Ive been doing a ton of block sanding and as everyone that has done that knows there is a ton of work involved, but not a whole lot to post pics of. I have bought a ton of parts for it, New poly bodymounts, spring bushings, stainless braided brakelines, new gauge cluster, door sills, weatherstripping, and new wiring harness.

I finally deceided on a color Its sunburst orange metallic. Base/clear. My paint guy has some serious shoulder problems and is going in for surgery this week. So he is going to teach me how to paint. I got a little gun time last sunday and did the inner side of the grille, inner fenders, inside of the fenders and the underside of the hood. Im happy with it overall, I did no prep work at all on any of the pieces painted other than wiping the crap off them and wiping them with solvent.

I also filled in a bunch of the firewall holes filled in as well and got some Als Liner and sprayed the bed, tailgate, interior, and firewall with it. I am really happy with how easy it layed out. I had it tinted body color as well. I was getting up under the dash and spilled a little on the driverside floor board, but Im gonna be running carpet and a dynamat knockoff.
