Its an addiction

Just picked this up today, 67 longbox, Newer 1/2ton axles, brand new 6" lift, Almost new 36" swampers, Rally wheels with new rings and caps, New shocks, 700r4/208 All I need is a motor, and some paint.

I Got the bug again and this deal was too good to pass up, Look for the build thread soon, I just got done with my blazer now on to the next.

I need suggestions as to what color to paint it, I dont want any metallics.

Re: Its an addiction

Well got it home, that was fun, didnt turn all that well. Turns out the previous owner did some draglink adjustment, All is well though I got a new one for it already, Just picked up a really strong 400ci from a buddy that had to sell his truck, I also picked up a brand new 4core radiator, some 3/4ton running gear and some newer flowmaster 40s for it in the deal. I will be cleaning up the motor in the next couple days and re-gasketing it and making it pretty.
Also, can I take out the 67 gauge bezel and set it up like the one in my 72? with out the choke?

On with the pics

Re: Its an addiction

The white one is my little brothers work in progress, Just picked up the 4 headlight clip from the 84 I got all my parts off of from my buddy and we got a 6" lift to stick on it too to get it back up in the air, He has a decent 350/465/205 with 2.5" dual exaust through an X pipe and flowmasters

You becha! Just move the lights to the left and the wiper switch over to the other side. With the new bezel, you'll never know. I did this with my 1970, which had the choke setup.

Re: Its an addiction

Why would ya wanna paint it at all. It looks great the way it is.You can go wheelin in her and don't have to worry about scratchin the paint.Take that tool box off and beat the doors off of it !!!That way ya can have fun with it instead of havin ta worry about it all the time.Real wheelers aren't supposed to be pretty,,,unless they are for Show Only.-KB

Re: Its an addiction

Plan is to make a pretty street queen and re-sell it eventually, I am painting it the same red as my blazer and am just going to add the chrome trim pieces to the grille, I love the 67 front ends, Gonna get a chrome bumper and headlight buckets too.

Re: Its an addiction

LOL! That draglink "mod" reminds me of the time my buddy snapped the steering arm on his '71 K20...in the middle of a stream...water about 6" below the arm. We drove my truck the 30 miles back to his shop...grabbed a piece of 1/2" steel plate...hot-wrenched and twisted a rough "arm" out of it...drilled new holes...drove the 30 miles back, and damned if it didn't work! LOL. Drove it back home at about 25 mph...wouldn't turn left hardly at all, but we made it!
