Re: Bird watching...
That place looks awsome. I did some searching on it today this is what I found. It is called hauf auto supply. The address is 4416 S Perkins Rd, Stillwater, OK and the phone number is (405) 372-1586. You can go to google maps and look at the satalite version of the place or get directions. It looks amazing and I hope I can go there soon. Aparently they are supposed to crush all the cars they don't sell pretty soon. I wonder if there is any 67-72 chevy trucks?

Re: Bird watching...
Once you mentioned the Harley shop I figured out the place you're talking about, I've rode past that place many times when leaving Formans, I always wanted to stop and check it out but never did caue I was usually with a group of other bikes. Since we're talking about old cars behind barns and OLDIRON mentioned 68-70 Chargers, I figured Id throw these pics out there for you guys to see. Its my buddies '69 Charger General Lee clone that just got finished a few weeks ago.

Re: Bird watching...
That Pontiac sedan delivery is like the one I used to have. Mine went to Memphis, where the new owner converted it to a '50 Olds sedan delivery, complete w/one-piece windshield. Don't know what he did for a power train, but I suspect it was appropriate. No, Oldsmobile never made a sedan delivery. The Pontiac I had was a '50, with a straight-8. You could get them with a straight 6, and with stick or hydramatic transmission. Mine had been a route supervisor vehicle for Yarnell's Ice Cream, from Searcy, AR. I spoke to the owner of Yarnell's and made a pitch to get them to help me restore it in exchange for their using it during their 50th anniversary, but it fell on deaf ears.
Thanks for sharing....

Re: Bird watching...
Awsome charger. That must have cost a pretty penny. Does anyone have pictures of this hauf place or any other old abandoned cars? If you search my profile in my old threads you will find a lot of pictures like this. I don't really want to repost them all here.

Re: Bird watching...
the best part of being able to find these gems that are out and about in peoples yards and barns and stuff is that there are actually people that will pay you to go find them. theres a guy that restores cars that pays me to go find places just liek that one. ive gone all over the place for him and scored some rare ones too. found an rs/ss yanko camaro in a ladys barn and a gto judge numbers matching original everything. the guy still had the papers from when he bought it when he was in the army.

Re: Bird watching...
Awesome pic. We did find some eagles, but they were just too far away or in flight so I couldnt get any good pics, we could only see them through the binoculars.
If I remember right, the barn with the front clip didnt have a house nearby or anywhere that looked like you might be able to find someone to ask. |

The green truck looks real good from the road, but it was off behind the house setting in a field. I havent ever seen the '57 move.

Re: Bird watching...
In the first pic theres more 67-72's hidden behind the trees. I stopped once lookin for a tailgate and a rear bumper but the guy wasnt real friendly. He also has a row of at least 10 60's Cadillacs hidden back in the trees, but the red heeler waiting outside my truck door didnt look too friendly, so I didnt get out to take pics. The blue truck on the trailer has been sitting in that lot on that trailer for at least 8 years. The red truck is sitting without a motor at an abandoned gas station. The last pic is behind a body shop, I guess its the owners personal stash, but some of them have been sitting for a long time.

Re: Bird watching...
These are the last ones for tonight, I have 15-20 more pics I'll post up tomorrow if I get a chance. Hope you guys like 'em, the wife thinks Im crazy for always wanting to check out this "old junk". The long stepper in the first pic looks like its still in use, but its a cool truck so I snapped a pic of it.

Re: Bird watching...
hey brown i have a list for you of a ton of places with some stashes not far from you at all. maybe one day you can i can get together and ill take you to them. theres a bunch believe it or not right in the middle of bricktowna nd close to the ford center. theres a lot that has at least 9 old milk trucks and delivery trucks.
wdrthird your wife thinks your crazy cause she doesnt understand and true to most wives. mine is a rarity she loves looking with me. she has gotten good too. she wants most of them worse than i do sometimes she just pulled home an old 56 ford f100 the other day for me to fix up haha. my dad is the one that hates the old stuff because he doesnt like taking trucks and cars that far down hes afraid of not being able to bring it back. if it doesnt run and drive already he doesnt like working on it. the wife and i however see so much of the potential in the old iron. and i think thats the case with most of us here we know our ability and see what it COULD look like. |

Re: Bird watching...
Heres the last of the pics I have for now. The yellow truck looks pretty good from the road, but the 2 flats say its probably been sitting for awhile. The last pic is my favorite, I dig the patina on that one with the old logo on the door.
