I'm with '71stepside, My tastes are a little different than that of what your truck is now. I definately dig the truck Chevjayfsd posted but I think I'ma end up lieing in bed tonight dreaming of that truck. The thing is so clean and beautiful to say the least. Nice work and a job well done!!! I hope when I begin building a truck although it will be a different style than your resto, I want it to be that immaculately clean and AWESOME> Thanks for the pics.

The engine really does look good. Seeing those original wire holders on the back of the engine made me remember this past weekend, my dad yelled at me for cutting a pair up to make them work on my 400sb. Apparently they are extremely hard to find. Looks really good.

What tires are you running on your truck Johnny? You see alot of advertising lit for these trucks with narrow white-walls on them.

That is a beautiful truck. Great job on your website too. Hotrod trucks are cool,,,,but nothing gets me excited like seeing a stocker going down the road. I think the original look is so clean. Most of the trucks around these parts have been butchered up in one way or another. Yours is very sweet. Great job.

toms68cst, the tires are P225/75R15 Uniroyal Tiger Paws. I "fudged" a little on the originality of the tires. The originals where not white walls - I know because the original bias-ply spare was still in the spare tire holder when I bought the truck. I wasn't going back with bias-ply (hey, this is a driver, not a trailer-queen) and I thought the white walls were more in keeping with the Sierra Grande trim option. I found some old 71-72 brochures and looked for tires with white walls that were a close match. The Uniroyals were the closest match I could find. Most other brand's white walls were much thinner.

Here's the original Firestone H78-15-B. It still holds air and I'm going to keep it as the spare. Probably not a "working" spare, just for a conversation piece.

Yah I have alot of truck ads that I collect and I have never noticed white walls on any of those trucks before. I think they wouldnt look right. I will have to go double check my ads now
