Tony I am definitely going with air ride up front. I was going to get a P'Built cross member but for the price I think I might just build my own cross member and tubular control arms.

Cut out the frame section between the notches. Rear of frame is sitting on ground with 30" tires. I have 2" before my axle hits the notch...... Looks like I might just be laying frame by mid summer....!!!

Thanks Alan and Hoser for the compliments. I am trying to keep this a simple, clean build. My progress is on hold until I get my bushings for the rear suspension. Hopefully I will have some new updated pictures next weekend.

Thanks for the compliments Twisted. The notches did end up being a little wider than what I needed. I think after I install my wishbone and control arms it will look a little more balanced.

Oarngesi thanks for the props on the Impala. That car was a blast to drive with a 530 HP/ 585 TQ small block Chevy that had a 4000 stall converter. My 65 truck will be getting a all forged 502 that was supposed to go into the Impala before I sold it. The 502 should be around 650 HP on pump gas....!!!

You are right Joe...!!!! I am a very big motor guy. The 502 will have a 740 lift roller cam. The "mutha thumper" comp cam.
Take a listen at the small block 350 "mutha thumper" cam..... http://www.compcams.com/Base/MultiMe...tha_Thumpr.wma Now imagine that cam in my 502 BIG BLOCK....

I came across this photo of my 66 Impala that I took for Air Ride Tech. ART had asked me to take some photos of my car to possibly be in their catalog to represent their 65-70 Impala parts. I did not get into the catalog but it was cool that ART had inquired about my car....!!!

I completely welded my front cross member and tack welded it in the frame today. Made my cross member brackets for my control arms. And installed my bushings into the controls. I was able to get the axle brackets for the rear control arms made up today as well.. Should have the rear end done this week.

Getting closer on the rear..... I have some gussets for the wishbone, wishbone mount on the front cross member and bag brackets. But I put air to the rear tonight and everything works great....

On your upper wishbone, it would be best to have the two "triangulated" tubes extend as far forward as possible for better stability. Or step up the size of the single tube. Also it looks like you used black pipe. That really isn't meant to be a structural tube. I would probably redo the wishbone, and I would probably use a larger OD tubing.
Also it looks like you used a rod end with no misalignment spacers. You should really have something on that end to allow it to articulate without binding. It will ensure that everything lasts longer. You probably know this, but with the leverage and height on those bag brackets, they need to be tied together to keep them from bending outward.

Thanks Twisted. Wishbone is temporary just for mock up. My steel guy did not have any DOM in stock. Should be here on Monday. But I sure hope I can get the bushings out of the current wishbone...... LOL
Could I remake the wishbone with this setup...... I am limited with space to change the angle......  Can you show me the rod end that I should use? The one I have is the QA1. And more bracing is coming for the bag brackets. They do go all the way through the frame. I plan on putting gussets on the bag mounts and front cross member.
