Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
You know, it is not fair that you get to have so many projects at once, especially with a nice sized garage like that, you and Matt (spraybomb) hmmmmmm,

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
after i got it all tore down, i put the rear end and trailing arms back in, so i could do a mild c-notch..then i modified the frame to accept the bags..afther that i modified the front arms to accept the bags, the front steering stops will be added later (ill have to make some diffrent ones).....and finally i put the engine and trans in, in preporation to make it a roller again (on 22/20 combo)

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
Nice to see another short bed being built to be a DD instead of a show pony, these trucks were way too awesome to be trailer queens.

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
ok here is a little update,i had to put the bad back on, so i could mount the airtank and compressor, then took the bed back off after everything was mocked-up...also mounted and plumbed the tranny cooler.. got the wheels /tires put on..... put the headers on, welded the v-band clamps on for the collector, and cut the holes in the crossmember for the exhaust to go through....finally, i got my valves mounted, just behind the rear axle.....

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
a little progress to report, started smoothing the firewall.....and only found a little rust over the blower motor hole (easy fix), but other then that it was very clean and solid....
cut original heater holes out, made my templets, transfered to 16ga. sheetmetal, cut/fit, then weld and grind.... |
