project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
here is a little back ground on the truck....it came outta georgia, and i bought it off ebay....it was a running driveing 350/350 combo.....it sat in my driveway for about a year till i was able to work on it (i was in a car wreck).....and the plans were to build a nice driver outta it and the wife and i agreed that 10G was gonna be my budget.....i just told her that to leave me alone......so the plans are to get a nice low/mid mileage gen3 engine, air suspension, a/c, navigation/CD player, new paintjob, and to drive and enjoy it....
so here is what im starting with |

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
since i have no instrest in running the 350/350 combo, i put the word out that its for sale......my dad passed the word around at his work, and just so happened a guy there need a engine for his 69 chevy truck.......so i sold it to him, and included the headers, transmission, driveshaft, radiator, wiring, and even the throttle cable....... so my dad and his co-worker (the dude buying the engine) came out and pulled it all out, while i was supervising/takeing pics (still healing from the wreck).....

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
Looks like it's going to be a very nice driver. That 4.8 wont be near as bad as people claim them to be. I've seen them putting down mean numbers with nothing but a computer flash and headers. Good luck with the build.

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
I have a friend with an '03 Silverado with the 4.8L and it scoots pretty good, and he's beat the snot out of it since it was new. His is totally stock, but it gets up and moves plenty good for a daily driver...

Re: project BIG RED (gen3 on air)
Tagging in. I want to watch this. I am trying to follow your LS installs to figure out what is needed and what is extra.
Painting the engine is NOT extra! That is a must. By the way, what kind of paint are you using for your engines?
