I grew up in west TX. As a kid I thought they were unique. I always wanted a truck with a bumper that has a dealer logo/stamp.
I would like to put together a Patina ranch truck, cow rack and all. The bumper will be a must have item. Hopefully from the Lubbock/Dickens Co area.

Could you take a pic of the rear bumper? I may just start a dealer stamped bumper thread. Crazy huh!

I'll get a pic of it tomorrow. Different strokes... I'll probably put the Steakley Bros bumper on Craigs around here.

Re: Brought it Home Today

This guy stopped by today to chat while I was outside cleaning and evaluating the new project. I don' think this truck (mine) has been vacuumed or cleaned for 20 years.

Turns out it's going to need a fuel tank, a motor, front suspension/steering, tires, carrier bearing and some new u-joints. The cool thing is that I have all that stuff stored up for the other truck already. I may just take what I need from the other one and sell the rest then just drive this one.

This is scary close to my truck's story. Mine too is from the original owner, who also went down and ordered the truck from a dealer in Waco (see pics). He too had receipts for everything he ever did to it, and all the dealer tags, bill of sale, etc.. This guy took great care of his vehicles, he had like 5 cars and trucks of varying years and they all looked like close to new. Its funny you got a ochre and white two-tone, that is the other only color combo I was going to buy when I was looking. I love your truck and can't wait to see what you do with it.

The pics were the day I got her home.

Your truck looks a lot like mine! Hey Nick... Your blue/white jimmy kicks ass too! Personally love the 2 tone trucks (any color)

Cool truck. Your not too far from me. Your truck is in somewhat better shape than mine. I don't think the inside of mine has seen a vacuum or a rag in 20 years at least. I think I'm taking that dealer bumper off of the back though. I don't really like it.

I've got one of those dealership bumpers as well. I think I'm gonna keep mine though. West, Texas has those good sausage rolls.

About a month's work and $1500 in parts and it finally is safe and legal to drive. Nowhere near done but at least I can drive it now.

The 69 may find a new home. I have three trucks and two cars. My insurance is getting out of control.

So the driver could see past the passengers wing vent. When I put the mirrors on the '71 4x4 I didn't put the passengers mirror in the right place and it was hard to see out of. Also, if you put it too far back you can't angle it in far enough to see anything in it.

My bumper says "Dan Steakley - Temple, TX". Although my truck came from Virginia... My great grandpa must have put that on there.
