looks good, your welds look like you've welded a little pipe in your time

or the pumps and stainless 6" pipping you have in the corner of your garage might be a give away

Unfortunately, I can't take credit for those welds.
Some of the contractors working @ my job are the shiz! Me? Not so much. But, I get better each time I pull the trigger & that's what I wanted.

The current set-up is Porterbuilt 3" drop truck arms. They have a bracket (PHB/shock mount) that sandwiches between the rear housing & the truck arm. Prior to that (& where I learned the PHB came too close to the differential cover), I had home-made lowering blocks w/the PHB mount built into the block.

Re: Custom PHB Mounts?

Kool mount and nice work, but my question is the slot gonna let the PHB move? I personally would have gone with three holes....

It will let it move to set it perfectly parallel. Once that is achieved, I can tack the washers to the bracket. Between the bolt & the tack welds.... it's not going anywhere (& can be infinitely adjusted within the given range if needed).

I'll get some pics up of the other side. And yes, the front has a V3.1 DM.

some internal tooth lockwashers and a locknut would keep it from moving. three holes would also.

Re: Custom PHB Mounts?

Sprint cars use a similar style adjustable mount... except it's billet steel and a lot more expensive and complex looking. Nice job SCOTI, But we need pics of how it attaches to the arm.

That's one of those elusive 15x8" Kelsey Hayes steelies. I was mocking things up & took that pic for Nathan to show some PB 3" truck arms actually were dead even on the scrub-line vs. a OE truck arm w/a 2" lowering block.

I'm really torn on wheels for this project.... I have a full set of steelies that will be the most probable choice. I also have a set of polished 18/20" TT2's stacked up in the corner of the garage. I want more of a 'vintage' look & don't think the torq-thrusts will help. The steelies are a sure deal & the price was definitely 'budget friendly' while other options aren't.

And to the nay-sayers.... I was posing in that pic.

I brushed my hair & shaved that week too .

Yes, that lower shock mount is 1" below the scrub-line for a 15" wheel. But, those arms were intended for larger diameter wheels. The 2" PB truck arms utilize a shorter shock bracket that keeps it above the scrub-line. I think you can get the 2" shock mount w/the 3" arms (that's what he was going to do for me when he realized I got 3" T/A's). I was planning for & expecting 2" T/A's.

How big of a frame notch are you planning to use with those arms?

It's a home made c-notch (the equivalent of a small step notch). My calculations say the rear housing will approx be above the top of the original frame rail location @ full drop.

I'll be posting my build thread soon. I just wanted the chassis sorted & able to roll before I officially started the thread.

He meant instead of a slot (like what I did), I could have done multiple sets of holes for adjustment (like the opposite side was done).
