Custom PHB Mounts?

Anyone make their PHB mount? I'm going to be making mine because of the drop needed (3" below the frame rail) & thought there might be a 'simple' version of something vs. the idea currently rattling around in my noggin.

Post up pics or links for inspiration....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

It's a Panhard bar-- one word. Panhard is the French family's name that owned the Panhard Automobile Company in the early 20th century that invented, and originally implemented the method for controlling suspension geometry. It's pronounced "Pinard" or "Puhnard."

Bonus educational moment: The Watt's Link was invented by James Watt in 1784 (one of the key contributors to the Industrial Revolution, which changed our world forever). His implementation was used on a Newcomen-based steam engine to keep the piston arm roughly centered in its stroke. Contrary to common perception, a Watt's link does not create a truly linear alignment, but rather it follows the straightmost section of a standard logistic sigmoid function or Lemniscate of Bernoulli.

I actually knew this. But for the masses on the WWW, it's commonly referred to as a PHB thus my basic break down.

Scoti-
I would start with a piece of square tubing, cut one side off it, drill a hole in it for the bolt, viola!

I'm think of something similar to the on in the picture.

The issue w/this is the amount of drop will require some triangulation on a set-up like that. Right now, I've got the 'base' that's the width of the frame rail bottom & it will bolt in where the original was riveted (frame rail & triangulating c.member). I'll prob make some 'tabs' that drop down to the height I need & go from there.

I was thinking maybe someone here might reference something that would boost my brain-storming process.

Re: Custom PHB Mounts?

I left the camera @ the shop w/the most recent pics. I figured I would @ least get the ones I'd already down-loaded from the camera on here so you could see my crap.

I'll finish up tomorrow w/the final bracket.

that's looks nice. is it because of your setup to why you would to make those?

The Panhard bar works best when set-up parallel @ ride height to minimize the side shift as the suspension cycles.

The OE frame brackets put the Panhard bar too close to the differential cover (both the 65 & 68 brackets) & wouldn't allow the bar to be parallel @ ride height. This bracket solved both issues & can be adjusted w/possible future changes....

The pass side attaches to the back of the truck arm & the OE drivers side bracket attached to the bottom of the frame. The OE mounts put the bar right against the differential cover & too close to the frame (not level @ ride height).

This mount moved the centerline of the mount further back (about 1") & dropped it level. Since it's adjustable, I can get it perfect once the truck is loaded (just in case my ride height measurements aren't 100% correct).
