Vernski,

You removed 3 leaves and still have 4 left plus the overload...must be a 3/4 ton. I thought 1/2 tons only had 5 leafs in em. (when you had leafs that is)

It had eight leaves per side the vehicle id plate says it was rated for 5000 lbs the title says 1/2 ton this could have been an exception of course it is a GMC so that may explain a little. But that's just the way she was when I bought it. an other possibility is a dealer change just guessing...Vernski

I think my 1/2 ton has 8 or 9 leafs in it.....I'll have to check when I get home....

I don't off hand but I can measure them and get back to you. I had the u-bolts made up at Pohl Springs in Spokane WA. I also had the springs re-arched there cause they were sagging on one side...Vernski:

Heres some pic's, I haven't done the front yet witch will be 2 1/2" spindles and a 2" coil as you see it's sitting higher in front, lowering the front will change the stance some. also with shackles you 2" lower....Vernski

Here's one grumpy....I would think a pipe notch would do it just fine.

No blocks, just a flip. I'm not sure if I'm running a full pack of leafs or not. I dont know what would be stock.

I just found a flip kit at O'rielys. Gonna get it next week. I'm sure I'll be askin some questions...like "Does it have to be notched?"

Man...I just went to O'reilys. I had asked them over the phone if they had a flip kit they said yes. I went down there to get a part number all they had was a lowering kit (shackles)...anyway here's the part number to it if you need it Bob P/N 13-4100 ($43.29). Let me know if you here something different. I want to lower mine without notching it...
and not bagging it (for now anyway).
