Re: Dropping the back of a 60-66 with leaf springs
Vernski,
You removed 3 leaves and still have 4 left plus the overload...must be a 3/4 ton. I thought 1/2 tons only had 5 leafs in em. (when you had leafs that is) |

I think my 1/2 ton has 8 or 9 leafs in it.....I'll have to check when I get home....

Re: Dropping the back of a 60-66 with leaf springs
I don't off hand but I can measure them and get back to you. I had the u-bolts made up at Pohl Springs in Spokane WA. I also had the springs re-arched there cause they were sagging on one side...Vernski:

Re: Dropping the back of a 60-66 with leaf springs
Vernski,
Would you please post up a side view of you truck? I am in the process of doing exactly the same thing you did to the rear and would like to get a pic as a reference. Thanks much,

Re: Dropping the back of a 60-66 with leaf springs
Heres some pic's, I haven't done the front yet witch will be 2 1/2" spindles and a 2" coil as you see it's sitting higher in front, lowering the front will change the stance some. also with shackles you 2" lower....Vernski

Re: Dropping the back of a 60-66 with leaf springs
Here's one grumpy....I would think a pipe notch would do it just fine.

Hey Pro, Thanks.
Is there any lowering blocks in there? or just a simple flip kit?

Re: Dropping the back of a 60-66 with leaf springs
No blocks, just a flip. I'm not sure if I'm running a full pack of leafs or not. I dont know what would be stock.

Re: Dropping the back of a 60-66 with leaf springs
Does anyone have a shot of their truck after a flip kit? I'm curious as to how dramatic a 5" drop would look.
