Re: What have you done with interior after tank removal?

I bought carpet from Trim parts that covered the floor all the way to the back wall, and a piece of carpet made to cover the back wall. (Also made by Trim parts) I don't see the back wall carpet listed on their site now, but I would bet that they still make them. I bought mine last summer. The fit was not great on either piece though.

Definitely some awesome stuff on there! Did anyone find the tank replacement piece on their site?

I had some sheet metal cut and rolled to match the corners of the cab. Then put sound deaden-er on the back and cover the front with carpet. Not as custom as the Porterbuilt pieces but it works.I held it in place using screws in tho old tank mount's.

Is that just one piece of sheetmetal that's rolled on both ends to match the corners or is it a few pieces put together? Any pictures before it was carpeted?

Re: What have you done with interior after tank removal?

It was two pieces that were spot welded together. If you look right behind the amp you can see the seam. They were just overlapped to make it easy and the carpet hides most of it.

ok. like this, but the sheet metal must move and end up at somepoint with the tin canning, rolled or not.. you might want to remove it and add a 1by3 across it under and over the 6 by 9's
spray in bedliner also helps with the metal coloring the sound.. then add ports so the bass will come through,it wont be boomy but it'll sound better as 6 by 9's are limited and you'll not have to turn the bass knob on the headunit(radio) up so much..
I like your panel. but I'm anal about my music..

I might do this over a box..
nice work..

I don't see this on their web site. Is there a certain person to contact for this? What is the price?

Re: What have you done with interior after tank removal?

Here's a picture of what I did to mine.

I'm not a big stereo guy and wanted to have some storage room behind the seat so I made this.

It's made from plywood covered in insulation and carpet.

Re: What have you done with interior after tank removal?

I have a Muncie 4-speed and the shifter sits back pretty far. Not a bad thing, it is where it should be for ease of access. Since I removed the tank I now have room for a factory truck console. With the fuel tank in the cab there wasn't room for the console, it hit the shifter and the fuel tank.

Finally got some pics today.

Re: What have you done with interior after tank removal?

if i did it would be for the storage, it don't bother me being behind the seat i don't ever think about it ...... i did see a truck at a cruise in yesturday that had reliefs cut into the metal under the window for the round part of the low back bucket seat to fit into looked nice it was maybe a mid 60's chevy

Oh man, that was about five years ago. I really can't remember. It was some internet company that sells replacement carpet, and they also had carpet available in short rolls. Since it is black, I didn't worry to much about the color, but I can tell you that the material itself is not as good a quality as the molded carpet on the floor.
