Re: My 62 and intro
Great truck! I agree with NovaOne. CLR would clean up that rust and still leave a patina. The tranny is a four speed column shift? If so, let me know when you pull it. Been lookin' for one of those for my '63

Re: My 62 and intro
it had a 4 on the floor, it has a 5 speed in it now. Sold the 4 speed already. I tried some CLR in a few spots and it brought the white out, looked cool but in some small spots it took everything off. i was afriad i might screw it up so i stopped.

Re: My 62 and intro
Hi Scott!
Heres a pic of Scotts truck from my house 2 weeks ago. And one of his other "beater"...lol. Not! Him and his folks drove out 2 of their hotrods to my daughters graduation party. And he grabbed up a spare windshield I had. Awesome cars.

Re: My 62 and intro
Thanks, Caps are wheel Vintique '52 chevy style. Got them at summit racing, kind of expensive $25 a piece i think. but it's hard to find a nice original set so i just bought the new ones.

Re: My 62 and intro
Well it’s been a while since I last posted on here but I thought I’d post an update on the old 62. I've been driving it for about 3 years now and it's been a real fun truck with the original 235/t5. Onlly thing i hated about it was trying to steer it in a parking lot with the manual box and radial tires. I started thinking about adapting power steering to the 235 but although not impossible it is still a bit of a challenge. So, one thing led to another and I finally decided it was time for an upgrade. So, I located another 62 frame and used an 86 suburban front xmember and a 12 bolt rear. Then things got a little out of control when a buddy talked me into going with a 5.3 Vortec this time around which is something i'm not familiar with and hopefully works out in the end! Anyways here are a couple pics, still hoping to have it on the road yet this summer, that is unless I have to go back to college to figure out the computer wiring!
