Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Ok I am down to making a bracket for the power steering pump. I want to use the bolt holes on the head and I work with water jets so making one is no problem but just having a good designe to go with is the problem. If you have some ideas or pic's please hit me up.

Sorry but I have to put the truck on hold for a bit. I need to take care of some other things first.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
My new tires and rims! 18x8 with 255/55/18 front and 18x9 with 275/60/18 back. We Started working on it again. We will be dropping the front 3'' with drop spindles and doing an axle flip to the back. I will add pic's as we go.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
I have went with a used serpentine kit I pulled off a 95. We also have installed 3 inch drop spindles in front and I made the brackets and flipped the rear axle but now the back is lower than the front. I was looking for it to level the truck out. I have 18x8 255/55/18 in front and I think 18x9 275/75/18 in the back. I think the leaf springs are worn flat out because the axle is know 2 3/4 inches from the frame. Not sure what I am going to do about this yet. I don't want to lower the front anymore than it is so the back needs to come up. Let me know if ya'll have any info or pic's on resolving this.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
No Dez I did not. I should have. The drop spindles on the other hand brought the bottom of A frames at ball joint point down from 9.5 to 6.5 inches from the ground. I added new stock springs to the front before I decided to drop the truck.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Just one suggestion, if your going to run Headman headers you might think about a heat shield for your starter, those headers can heat that starter up pretty quick.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Terryj--- Thanks for the heads up. I have not pictured it yet but we have installed a Mini Hi-Torque starter that should hold up to the heat from the headers. The one pictured is a stock one and yes I agree it would not hold up to the heat.
