Re: few pics of my new brake booster
Thanks for the mention
That is correct, my booster/hydroboost bracket is a direct bolt on to the firewall. Quote:

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
in case anybody is considering making your own hydraulic hose for your hydroboost, these are the fittings and hose i used. the hose is russells powerflex hose for power steering and their endura hose ends.the hose ends are reusable which makes it easier to get the clocking of the ends just right. the fittings average about $13.00 each and 20 feet of hose about $85.00. i chose this route rather than tow the truck to the hydraulic shop to have the hose made. they went together pretty easy

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
What year truck did you get the steering box out of. Does your box have the metric fittings like the pump and booster?

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
The '68-'80 steering boxes will have SAE fittings. The '81 and up boxes have the Metric with an O-ring fittings. Same for the pumps, but with the pumps, the pressrer fitting can be changed.

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
Do the 2000 year model boxes have the same gearbox mounting pattern as a 69 c10? If not, which metric box does?

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
There is already a power steering box on my truck from the previous owner starting the conversion. I'm not sure which year it is from, though.

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
No. The '88 and up pickup steering boxes will not work....totally different
Quote:
For a Metric steering box you will need one from a '81-'86 C series pickup, Suburban or 2wd K5 Blazer, or a '87-'91 R series pickup, Suburban or 2wd K5 Blazer.

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
Last question. Which factory hydroboost would I need to look for to fit correctly on the firewall of my 69? Ive seen some say mid 80s Astros and another guy said 99 c3500. I appreciate all your help, bro.

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
There is not any factory hydroboost bracket that will be a bolt on install to your '69 firewall. Once you remove the factory mounting bracket, the hydroboost units themselves are all the same physically. With that said, I sell the brackets to mount any hydroboost to your firewall, without drilling any holes.

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
Do you have a photo of the bracket and what is the cost+shipping? Who knew big cams would cause so much trouble? Haha. Thanks for the help. Just pm me the info with pay pal address.

Re: few pics of my new brake booster
Is it a waste of time adding hydro boost and a pump if I don't have power steering? I was working on a late model 1 ton Dodge today and the hydro boost has the hoses routed towards the wheelwells. I will probably get that style.
