Ya...I get that. The difference in the tire you showed me(255/40-20) and mine(235/60-15) is 2 inches in height. Wouldn't that be pushin it? Thanks for the reply.

Yup...if you stick with the 40 series, you're front end should come up about an inch and the wheel will go up into the fender about an inch as well since they are about 2 inches taller than your current.
If you want the 20's, get the 20's...you probably wouldn't be happy with anything smaller. I just get them and hope they work and if not, figure out if you have 2.5 or 3 inch drop spindles and buy springs to get you a ~6" drop in the front. BTW gringo, that's the 1st time I've seen your truck other than your avatar...looks damn good! Gonna have to check out your build thread...can't believe I haven't yet.

As of now it will be 20"s. If if gotta remove the inner fenderwells then so be it. Might change my mind again so who knows.
Think my best tire combo would be a 245/40-20 front and 295/40-20 rear so that I can maintain as close to my stance as possible.?! Oh and proper backspace info needed. Any thoughts feel free. Thanks for all the continued help. As always this site solves a lot of stuff that goes haywire in my head from time to time. |

Ya I still have to get under it and measure the rear end.
I'm sure that it's either the axle swap or entire diff swap because I don't remember seeing redrilled axles. Will try to get some pics on here too. |

Update:
Got front and rear wheel off today. Unable to get decent pics. Still tryin. Front: CPP 6102-2.....2" drop spring. Was unable to see any markings on the spindle. Rear: After measurement have come to find that I have the later model 12 bolt (57" backing plate to backing plate). Any other ways to tell what drop spindle I have? |

I've never seen any way to determine which drop spindle you have by looking at it, but 3" spindles are only made for 73+ years. Based on how low you are, you at least have a 2.5" spindle, so the other .5" shouldn't be anything to worry about for now.
I'm not running inner fenders up front in my blazer...mainly because it didn't have them and I don't want to shell out the $ for a set, let alone a set of Slosh Tubz (which are perfect and hopefully will be around if/when I come to a point where I can afford them).

Ok so if I have the 2" drop spring and at the most a 2.5" drop spindle that would mean a 4.5 front drop on a 26" tall tire. Out back I have a 28" tall tire. My fenderwell lip height is as follows: 25.25" front and 25.75" rear. I state that measurement because after "big al" gave me a measurement it got me interested as to where mine sat. So correct me if I'm wrong or stupid but if I went with a 245/40-20 (27.7" tall) in the front and a 295/40-20 (29.5" tall) it would or should in my mind raise the overall height of the truck around .5" to 1.0"?

Yup! Take the difference between the two tire heights and divide by 2 and that's how much it'll raise the truck... Just know that it will also move up into the fender that same amount.
