My C/20 has coils in the back. Betwwen that and the Michelin tires it rides really well.

To keep this simple on C/10s and most C/20s coils were standard.
Heavier coils were an option. C/10 & C/20
Aux leaf (helper) springs were an option on coil trucks. C/10 & C/20
Leaf springs that replaced the coils were an option. C/10 & C/20
HD Dual stage leaf springs were an option on leaf trucks. C/20

C/10 rear axles are rated at 3500lbs
C/20 rear axles ar rated at 5200 or 5500lbs

C/10 Max GVW 5500
C/20 Max GVW 7500

Here are the '72 optional springs.

You guys are talking about the weight difference, don't most 3/4 ton have higher gear ratios too to help w/ towing. (I saw the gear ratio chart on pg 1) I would think that would also be a big factor on mpg. I understand the C-20 did/do have upgraded/larger brakes as well.
