Lol..makes it easier. Next question i have is what size tires to go with? I see alot of people using 245/45 and 255/45. I will be running 18x8 in front and 18x19.5 in rear. I like some tire but not to much and then again i don't want rubber bands.

I purchased a 1972 donor truck shortly after buying my 1969. I've been slowly swapping parts over.

Pure sex. I'm loving everything about this truck.

Do you by chance have additional photos not on grass? Side profiles as well. I'd like to get a better perspective of how tall the tires are.

you can use the same bs that he has if you use 1.5" spacers on the rear.

I think in another thread he said he was just having the 383 rebuilt. He thought about going LS, but everything was already setup for the sbc and it ran great as it was.

What is the installed height(properly inflated with weight on them)of the tires? The tire companys give them in the tire specs but my current tires do not match manufacturer specs!

Re: Looking for pics of 18 inch rims with 3/5 drop

some good looking trucks in here
it seems like the 18 inch wheels have a limited tire size following
Here is mine 18 x 9.5 front and rear. 255-50 front 295- 45 rears

I may need or want to drop mine a little more maybe an inch in the rear...

Re: Looking for pics of 18 inch rims with 3/5 drop

I don't remember the drop I did this back in 1997 with shocks, springs and pan hard bar. 18x8 front 255/55/18 and 18x9.5 rear 275/55/18 bought as a package from Coys Wheels.

Re: Looking for pics of 18 inch rims with 3/5 drop

I purchased the wheels and tires direct from Coys Wheels. I called and talked to them a few times. The main thing I wanted was matching tires on front and rear.

Re: Looking for pics of 18 inch rims with 3/5 drop

Plumps68

I called Coys Wheels today to make sure I provided the correct backspacing. The front is 4.5 with an 18x8 and the rear is 5.5 with an 18x9.5 wheel. When I purchased mine I talked to them 3 or 4 times to make sure I had the right size tires with good side wall and also the same brand on front and rear. Originally they provided me a quote with different tires but they changed it so they were matching. One thing to remember is if you have a factory big block truck with original front disc brakes you need to tell them. They will have to provide you a spacer for the center cap. I did not do this and they shipped me new center caps and spacers for free. The centers pushed out after driving the truck. I ordered the wheels and received them at my house with the tires mounts, lug nuts and centers. I know this is not everyone choice of wheels but if they have what you like it was a pretty painless process. Good luck.
