There is no amount of "tweaking" in the world to fix those fenders. I also had the same problem, the fender where the grill shell goes on is too wide and the grill shell will not go all the way on. My vender has a new supplier and sent me new fenders and they fit.

I bought so called OEM GM inner and outer fenders. left and right. i had to do so much modifying to them. So much for tooling and quality! Found the GM fenders where made in China i think, and dont know where the inners came from, but the holes no where near lined up. and my Grill aftermarket, my head light bezels dont fit in the grill (i am happy that the inner and outer grill matched)!!
any how good luck with it, maybe a body shop or customizing shop can help you if its buggs ya that much

Damn that truck is sweet...I can't believe the same shop that did that let that fender out the door. They better be glad I didn't write them a check because the owner wouldn't get any sleep till that was fixxed... I'm sorry there is no way he should have shot that fender without bringing it to your attention first...raise hell till he fixes it. If you make enough noise he will fix it just so you will shut up. Good Luck

BTW, you really ought to push to get that fixed now rather than wait until winter. Right now the paint on the new fender will match, etc... If you wait until winter, they will be painting under different conditions, mixing up a batch of paint well after the fact, the paint on the truck may fade a little bit in the meantime, stuff like that. You never know.
